Philip Strakos 1900 census

This is the 1900 census record of Philip Strakos in DeWitt County, Texas.

The record indicates Phillip was a 42-year-old farmer who owned his farm with a mortgage. He and his parents were born in Bohemia. His naturalization status was "Pa" or "first papers" which show the alien had filed his declaration of intention, and was in the process of naturalizing. 

The family name is spelled incorrectly as Strakosch. The Ignaz Strakosch family is listed on the next census page, two families after Louis. I do not know the relationship between the two families. Ignaz is 3 years younger Philip. Ignaz also immigrated from Bohemia in 1890.

According to the 1900 U.S. census Phillip Strakosch lived in Justice's Precinct 3 (Part of), DeWitt County, Texas. He was head of the family. He was a 42-year-old married white male born in May 1858. Number of years married was 18. 

He and his parents were born in Bohemia. His year of immigration to the United States was 1890. Number of years in the United States was 10. His naturalization status was "Pa". His occupation was farmer. His number of months not employed was zero. He could read and write. He could not speak English. His home was owned with a mortgage and was a farm.

He is listed on penned page 23B, in supervisor’s district 13, enumeration district 30 at line number 76, dwelling 409, family 410. Living in the place of abode on June 1, 1900 were head Phillip, 42, wife Frances, 42, son Louis, 17, daughter Celia, 15, daughter Frances, 11, daughter Mary, 8, daughter Theresa, 6, son Adolph, 5, daughter Emilia, 4, and daughter Julie, 3.
